5 January 2008 Interesting correspondence between Non-Member François Pétry, our Secretary Andrew McClellan and Peter Mansfield regarding a payment of £200,000 made in 1871 by France to Germany after losing the Franco-Prussian war, and the UK Foreign Bill stamps that represented the British Inland Revenue's "profit" on the arrangement.

4 January 2008 An article entitled 'FORGED OVERPRINTS' by Peter Mansfield was incorrectly published in our December 07 Journal page 111. It is unknown how this was published in this manner as it in no way 'fits' the original draft. We sincerely apologise to Peter for any inconvenience this may have caused. 15th September 2007 Extract from the: Committee Meeting Minutes – 1st September 2007. "The Committee noted that the Society has now paid a significant amount of money for members’ frame fees, though this has not brought in many new revenue exhibitors or exhibits.  After some discussion, the Committee voted to end the scheme in its present form: specifically, with effect from 1st January 2008, frame fees will only be paid for members who are exhibiting revenues for the first time.  No cash prizes will be made for exhibiting, regardless of the level of award achieved".
